Executive Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Specialist to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic business opportunities. The ideal candidate will combine industry knowledge with analytical skills to foster partnerships, expand our product portfolio, enter new markets, and drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify business opportunities.
- Monitor industry conferences, publications, and databases for potential partnership leads.
- Conduct financial and commercial analyses of opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risks, synergies, and strategic fit.
- Prepare business cases, valuation models, and investment recommendations for senior management.
- Support negotiations, draft term sheets and contracts, and assist in closing partnership agreements in coordination with Legal and Finance teams.
- Manage post-deal integration activities as required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Contribute to the development of the company’s BD strategy and long-term growth plans.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related Business field (e.g., Business Administration, Management, or Healthcare Management). MBA, MSc, or equivalent in business or pharmaceutical management is an advantage.
- 4+ years of experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record in supporting or leading deal execution from identification to closure.
- Strong understanding of drug development processes, regulatory pathways, and market dynamics.
- Experience in emerging markets or African regulatory environments.
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software is a plus.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
