Country Sales Manager (Pharmaceuticals)

Position Summary

The Country Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the national sales strategy to achieve revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen Zutron Pharmaceutical’s presence in Ghana. The role oversees all sales activities, manages the national sales team, develops key accounts, and ensures effective market penetration while maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the country sales strategy in line with company and regional objectives.
  • Drive national revenue growth and achieve agreed sales targets and profitability goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities, product positioning strategies, and channel expansion opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and manage the national sales team to ensure high performance and target achievement.
  • Set sales targets, KPIs, and territory plans for the sales team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and training programs.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and development of sales personnel.
  • Manage strategic key accounts, institutional clients, distributors, and major healthcare partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, pharmacies, and distributors.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company policy.
  • Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and periodic performance reports.
  • Ensure accurate sales reporting, pipeline management, and CRM usage.
  • Work closely with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams to support effective sales execution.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements to enhance brand visibility.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or country-level sales management role.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering strong sales results.
  • Strong understanding of the Ghana pharmaceutical market, distribution channels, and regulatory environment.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills

  • Commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making ability
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Working Conditions
